Southend Saxons 81-14 Old Priorian

DIRECTOR OF RUGBY, Josh Ward, was delighted that his Southend Saxons side maintained their one hundred per cent start to their London One North campaign, but mindful that there was plenty of hard work ahead of them if they were to sustain a push for promotion.
“Were really pleased as a whole group to lock in two positive outcomes,” Ward enthused.

Old Priorian worked hard but I felt we controlled the controllable well and scored some excellent tries. We, as a whole group, needed to step up again and back up last week’s successes and we’ve done that.”

Ward added: “We had a lot of guys unavailable this week, so once again we’ve demonstrated quality in depth. The Priors have continued by surpassing 50 against Brentwood and starting their league campaign in a positive manner.

“It’s a pleasing start, but it’s only a start, there are 23 more rounds of tough rugby. Well enjoy tonight and get back on track Tuesday ahead of a tough test at Eton Manor.”
