DIRECTOR OF RUGBY, Josh Ward, has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract with London One North outfit, Southend Saxons.
Ward has committed himself to the Warners Bridge club until November 2021 following having revived the historic seaside clubs fortunes since initially arriving in 2017.
“I’m delighted to commit my long term future to the club,” Ward told Yellow Sport.
“Since the day I came in, I have been made to feel at home and supported by everyone associated with Southend Rugby Club.
“It was a difficult time at the start naturally, but I now feel we have a squad building and staff slotting into important roles to drive us forward over the coming years.
Ward added: “We’ve implemented a lot of positive change so far, but importantly there’s a lot to come throughout the club on and off the field.
“I’m incredibly grateful for all the support and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the next two years.”
Southend Saxons return to London One North action on Saturday, November 9 when Shelford are the visitors to Warners Bridge (3pm).
