Police have provisionally named the man who died during a drugs related burglary in Westcliff as Asqeri Spaho, 25.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned today, Tuesday December 17.
A post mortem examination recorded that Mr Spaho, an Albanian national, died as a result of stab wounds.
Police received reports at around 4.25am on Thursday December 12 of a disturbance at an address in Tintern Avenue.
Officers discovered a man with stab wounds to his body.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man died at the scene.
Following further investigations, police believe that the suspects involved attacked the man during a targeted drugs related burglary.
Anyone who was in the area on December 12, particularly between 3.30am and 5am and have dash cam or CCTV footage or any information about the incident, is urged to contact Essex Police on 101 quoting incident 97 of 12/12.
