Tom Westley and Phillips took three wickets apiece as Essex took their turn with the ball on the second day of their warm-up match with Lancashire at the Cloudfm County Ground.

Skipper Westley finished the day with figures of 3/21 from his ten overs, while Phillips took 3/40 as the Lancashire batsmen offered a stern test.

Leading the way for the visitors was Rob Jones who scored 105* off 161 balls, while Dane Vilas retired out on 79.

Jamie Porter, Matt Quinn, Eshan Kalley and Robin Das were also amongst the wickets for Essex.

On the first day, Paul Walter scored 42 and Westley 38 of the home sides 161/13. The two sides will play a similar match at The Cloudfm County Ground starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 25 (11am).
