On Saturday, March 7, Carla Watson held her second ‘Big Bandana Bake’ for the Brain Tumour Charity at her shop Watson Wigs in Wickford High Street.
This is the charity’s annual excuse to indulge in cake, biscuits, pies, brownies or the humble crumble, all for a really good cause – beating brain tumours.
With the help of home bakes from Carla and family, along with local businesses, in total a fantastic £270 was raised.
Every day, 32 people in the UK are diagnosed with this devastating disease so every penny raised will be helping to fund essential research and life-changing support for people who are living with brain tumours and who urgently need a cure to be found.
Carla said: “Every time I put on an event I’m overwhelmed with the support from the local community.
