Wickford wig shop owner’s annual charity chop goes ahead as Carla calls for hair donations

For the past two years to celebrate Watson Wigs Shop’s anniversary, owner Carla Watson has held a charity fundraising event at the shop in Wickford to raise funds for The Little Princess Trust and The Brain Tumour Charity with people having their hair cut to be donated to The Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss, and funding vital research into childhood cancer.

This year is a little different with the new restrictions surrounding Covid-19. Carla has put out on social media if people would like to donate their hair before the anniversary and has already received 100 inches of hair!

On Saturday October 10 at 12pm, Carla will be having her own hair chopped (at least 10 inches) at the shop to put towards this great amount and is hoping to raise funds before and on the day.

Any donations can be made to her fundraising page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/watson-wigs-3rd-anniversary

Carla said: “Last year I sent off 95.5 inches of hair so I’m going to beat that amount this year.

“If you are planning on having more than eight inches of hair cut from now up until October 10, please get in touch.”
