Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Upminster.
Police were called at 11:15am on Monday October 25 to reports of the theft of a van in Hall Lane, Upminster.
As officers attended the van was in collision with other vehicles.
Two men, who were both believed to be in the van, were taken to hospital.
One man, aged in his early 30s, remains in hospital and is currently in a serious condition.
A second man, aged in his late 50s, remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Any witnesses, particularly anyone with dash cam or film footage, are asked to call detectives from the SCIU based at Chadwell Heath on 0208 597 4874.
