Woman charged following disturbance in Chelmsford during England game

A Chelmsford woman has been charged with assault in connection with an incident during last Sunday’s Euros game between England and Serbia.

Police were called to reports of a disturbance when someone was refused entry to The Courtyard in Baddow Road at around 8.30pm on Sunday (16 June).

47 year-old Cassie Smith, of Westbourne Grove, Chelmsford, has now been charged with ABH, two counts of common assault, and criminal damage.

She has been released on bail and is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on July 12.

The terms of her bail mean she will not be allowed to enter any licensed venue in Chelmsford.
