Woman injured in collision on Canvey Island

Police are appealing for information after a collision between a Mercedes and a pedestrian on Canvey Island.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, suffered an injury to her ankle in the incident on Yamburg Road, which occurred shortly before 12.35pm on Thursday May 21.

A 22-year-old local man, who is known to the lady, was later arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, and drug driving.

He has been released on bail until Friday June 12.

Anyone with information about this incident, or who may have witnessed the collision, is asked to submit a report through the police website or call 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/72135/20.
