Woman suffers stab injuries in Chelmsford

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was seriously assaulted at an address on St. Michael’s Walk in Chelmsford yesterday, Saturday September 5.

Officers were called shortly after 5.30pm to reports that a woman had been stabbed.

Officers and paramedics arrived and the woman was treated for serious injuries.

A 33-year-old man from Brentwood has been arrested on suspicion intending to cause grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

During the arrest, he was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and racially aggravated public order.  

He remains in police custody.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who was in the area, in particular St. Michael’s Walk and Barnard Road, around the time and saw or heard any unusual activity or suspicious behaviour.

They are particularly keen for anyone who lives in, or was driving in the area and has footage, whether it’s dash cam, doorbell or CCTV, to get in contact immediately.
