Division Two strugglers Old Southendian & Southchurch slipped to a four-wicket defeat at teh hands of title-chasing Woodford Wells at Monkhams Lane.

Connor Caplan hit an unbeaten half-century as teh home side chased down a modest target of 180 set by the Old Boys. Skipper, Joe Johnson contributed 40 to the victory. TJ Bailey returned bowling figures of two for 50 for the visitors.

Earlier, Ahsan Yousaf had top-scored for Old Southendian, hitting 56 off 64 balls. Anurag Sarangi led the Woodford Wells attack, claiming three for 36 from his ten-over spell.
