Daniel Teper – Southend United
This week, 15-year-old Southend United supporter and promising goalkeeper, Daniel Teper, is featured as our #YellowSport Fan of the Week
How long have you supported Southend United?
I’ve supported Southend for six years. I’ve made a lot of friends watching the matches and have already got some great memories.
Where in the ground do you sit?
I sit in Block ‘B’ of the East Stand – I have a season card.
Favourite all-time player?
My favourite all-time Blues player is Daniel Bentley who now plays in the Championship with Bristol City.
I’ve met him – he’s a great person and a good shot-stopper. He is an inspiration to me.
Favourite current player?
That would have to be John White. A really good defender, leader and ambassador. If you have played for Colchester and Southend and are respected by fans of both, then you must have done something right during your career.
Most memorable match?
Without a doubt, the thrilling 3-3 Sky Bet League One draw with Portsmouth at Roots Hall Stadium.
Southend were 3-0 down and looked dead and buried. However, a great fightback led by a Simon Cox hat-trick saw us snatch a point and send Portsmouth home stunned.
If I could sign one player for my team it would be?
I’d re-sign Daniel Bentley because he’s exactly what Southend need at the moment. He’s now had experience in the Championship with Brentford and Bristol City so I believe he’d be even better than before. It would be great to see him back in at Roots Hall.
