Bottom of the table Billericay Town gave themselves a lifeline with a resounding 4-1 victory at Hungerford Town.

Nico Muir, Michael Chambers, Dylan Galvin and Greg Halford netted for the Blues who closed the gap on Welling United to four points.

Braintree Town played out a goalless draw at Tonbridge Angels, while Concord Rangers are ten points clear of the dropzone thanks to a Danny Green goal giving the Beach Boys a welcome 1-0 victory at St Albans City. Meanwhile, Chelsmford City went down by a goal to nil against Eastbourne Borough at the Melbourne Community Stadium.

Buildbase FA Trophy Quarter-Final
Dagenham & Redbridge crashed out of the Trophy at the quarter-final stage following a dramatic tie with York City at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

Paul McCallum handed the Daggers an early lead. However, a spot-kick from Clayton Donaldson in the sixth minute of stoppage-time sent the tie to penalties – The Minstermen running out 7-6 winners.

Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division

Hornchurch were on the wrong end of the result as fellow play-off contenders, Enfield Town won by two goals to one at Bridge Avenue.

Urchins’ Tom Wraight cancelled out Emmanuel Maja-Awesu’s opener for Enfield. However, Adam Cunnington won it for the visitors in front of a near-700 crowd.

Johnny Ashman bagged a brace as relegation-haunted East Thurrock United came from behind to beat Kingstonian 2-1 at Rookery Hill, this after Kenny Beaney had given the K’s a first-half lead.

Bowers & Pitsea went down 3-2 against Folkestone Invicta at the Len Salmon Stadium. Lewis Manor and Michael Ademiluyi netted for the home side while David Smith (2) and Adam Yusuff won it for Invicta. The game was overshadowed by a bad injury suffered by Folkestone’s Jordan Wright. the player was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg.

Brightlingsea Regent gave their survival hopes a boost with a 3-2 win at Horsham. Carlos Cachicote da Rocha scored twice for the North Essex outfit, while Aaron Blair was also on target. Scott Mitchell and Samuel Owusu were Haringey Borough’s goalscorers in a 2-2 draw with Lewes

Pitching In Isthmian League North
Table-topping Canvey Island came out on top in their big derby with Basildon United, winning by four goals to one at Park Lane.

Bradley Sach, Odei Martin Sorondo, Matthew Price and Evans Kouassi were on target for the Gulls. Daniel McCullock provided the Bees’ response. Canvey are a point clear of Stowmarket Town, who saw off Grays Athletic by a goal to nil.

Aveley are third following a 5-2 win over Coggeshall Town.
George Sykes and Jon Benton scored twice for Grays after Alex Akrofi had opened the scoring. Dylan Logan bagged a brace for the Seedgrowers in the final ten minutes.

Brentwood Town makes up the teams occupying the play-off places. Rob Harvey scored their goal in a 1-0 win over Barking. Hashtag United are ready to pounce after Sam Bantick and Luke Hirst scored their goals in a 2-0 win at Bury Town.

George Winn and Joe Turpin found the net as Maldon & Tiptree recorded a 2-1 home victory over Dereham Town at the Wallace Binder Ground. However, Heybridge Swifts went down 2-0 at AFC Sudbury. Cameron Forde-Brown and Reece Harris scoring for the home side.

Tilbury had things wrapped up by half-time at Hullbridge Sports as Roman Campbell, Charles Bampoe (2,1 penalty) and William Harris (penalty) sunk the beleaguered hosts by four goals to nil.

Great Wakering Rovers also moved a step clear of the dropzone after thrashing rock-bottom Romford 5-0 at Mayesbrook Park. Jaden Crowhurst, Charlie Morris, Jake Gordon (penalty) and Alex Clark’s brace doing the damage for the villagers.

Witham Town are a place above the relegation zone after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home to Felixstowe & Walton United.

Essex Senior League
Walthamstow march on at the top of the table with a 2-0 triumph at Athletic Newham. This was Stow’s 24th win of the season. Their lead at the summit is fourteen points.

Second-placed Redbridge were held by improving Southend Manor at the Oakside Stadium. Manor continues to climb clear of the dropzone under the guidance of James Wakeling. Saffron Walden Town are up to third following a dramatic 4-3 win over Ilford.

Stansted and Cockfosters were both amongst the goals, both recorded resounding 5-1 victories over St Margaretsbury and Sporting Bengal United respectively.

Sawbridgeworth Town were 2-1 winners at Stanway Rovers, while Enfield only needed a single goal to pick up three points at West Essex.

White Ensign and Little Oakley played out a goalless draw. The Friday night encounter between Woodford Town and FC Clacton ended 1-1.

Essex Olympian League
Premier Division

Ongar Town, top the table by four points following a single-goal success over Shenfield AFC at the Lakeside Sports Ground.

Rayleigh Town kept up the pressure with a 5-0 thrashing of Galleywood. Meanwhile, third-placed Basildon Town went one better, seeing off Bishop’s Stortford Swifts by six unanswered goals at Gardiners Close – Ronnie Hobbrough scoring twice for the home side.

Catholic United were 3-1 winners at Springfield, while Sungate edged out Leigh Ramblers by the odd goal in three.

It was a case of ‘honours even’ in the battle of the bottom two as Harold Wood Athletic and Canning Town played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
