Wycombe Wanderers 2-1 West Ham United U21

West Ham United’s impressive under-21 side slipped to their first competitive defeat in seventeen matches as Sky Bet League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers won an entertaining Bristol Street Motors Trophy Round of Sixteen tie at an icy Adams Park.

Having already beaten Cheltenham Town, Bristol Rovers, Newport County and Colchester United, the Hammers youngsters headed to the Chiltern Hills as many people’s favourites for the competition.

However, they found themselves behind in only the fifth minute when Killian Phillips appeared to bundle home from close range.

Richard Kone marked an impressive Chairboys debut with Wycombe’s second just after the half-hour mark. Gideon Kodua reduced the arrears after the interval. However, the home side stood firm to record a narrow victory, taking them closer to a Wembley final.
